When can my chicks go outside?
Baby chicks are kept at 95 degrees for the first week of life and then can handle a 5 degree temperature reduction each week. Only put your chicks outdoors when the daily low is the temperature they can handle at their age.

Vaccinations:
All chicks hatched after 4/24/17 will be vaccinated for Mareks Disease.

We have put much thought into this decision. For many years we did not want to vaccinate, due to keeping the chicks as natural as possible. Due to the extreme popularity of back yard chickens, more and more people are asking about vaccinations. Mareks Disease is starting to become more common, with flocks of backyard chickens popping up in nearly every neighborhood. This disease can spread through the wind or on clothing and shoes of your neighbors who have chickens. It is not harmful to humans, but quite deadly to most chickens. 80% of any flock will likely not survive if they are exposed to Mareks. The vaccination is given on hatch day to the chicks. Medicated feed is still recommended for the first few months to control coccidosis, which is a completely different issue than Mareks.
Meet the Jersey White
This is a sexlink breed that is feather sexable at hatching. It is easy to seperate the male and female chicks...so your chances of getting a rooster accidentally are slim to none! These beautiful birds are white with red flecks throughout. They are perfect for back yard coops. They do well in confinement, lay a ton of large brown eggs, tolerate extreme temperatures, and are super personable. They are excellent foragers when let out, and they love attention!
We have a great new breed at the farm. Chicks are ready to go now!!! $10. each
English Large Fowl Orpingtons
We have chocolate and splash Orpingtons available! Add some unique variety to your flock with the rich chocolate plumage or fancy blue splash pattern of this exquisite birds. They are large in size, extremely docile, and lay large brown eggs!
